Itinerary
Your adventure begins at JR Hotaka Station, where you’ll take a public bus to Nakabusa Onsen. The adventure starts with a steep ascent through dense forest, one of the most challenging parts of the hike. As you break through the treeline, you’ll be greeted by stunning views and the welcoming sight of Enzanso Hut. Depending on your energy and the weather, you may also opt to summit Mt. Tsubakuro, known for its unique rock formations.
Start: Meet at JR Hotaka Station and transfer to Nakabusa Onsen trailhead.
Hike: Ascend through one of the steepest forested hills, with the option to summit Mt. Tsubakuro.
End: Arrive at Enzanso Hut for the night.
Meals: Dinner is provided.

On day 2, the hike becomes more mellow as you remain above the treeline, surrounded by panoramic views. You’ll pass Mt. Otensho, where on clear days you’ll be treated to the sight of Yarigatake, which resembles a spear piercing the sky. You’ll end the day at Johnen Goya Hut, nestled at the base of Mt. Jonen. If time and conditions allow, you can also summit Mt. Jonen before nightfall.
Start: Depart from Enzanso Hut and continue above the treeline.

Our final day takes you down the Ichinosawa Trail, a refreshing descent alongside a stream. The cold, drinkable water along the trail provides a perfect opportunity to cool off before reaching the end of the trail. From there, a taxi will take you back to JR Hotaka Station.
Start: Depart from Johnen Goya Hut and begin your descent.
Hike: Follow the Ichinosawa Trail, with chances to drink fresh stream water.
